Where to choose and cut Christmas Trees near Brevard, NC

Before we moved to the mountains of western North Carolina, finding the perfect Christmas tree usually involved going to one of the stands around town that were sponsored by a local church or civic group. The trees were all lined up against a fence or standing in rows, cut and ready to go. I never really thought about the fact that these trees were probably cut months before and had come from a part of North Carolina where I would eventually relocate.Brevard tree farms

Now that we live here, in Brevard, North Carolina, choosing a Christmas tree is an entirely new experience and I highly recommend it. Now we go to one of our area tree farms where you can "choose and cut" a fresh tree. No matter what size or variety of tree you want, there is just something "old school" about walking through a grove of trees, looking for that special one that will be the centerpiece of your holiday decorating. The smell alone is enough to bring you back every year. After making your choice, there's someone nearby with a chainsaw to cut the tree, bag it for you and help you strap it to the top of your car. Some of the tree farms make it a real family event by offering hot chocolate, hay rides, and a petting zoo with various farm animals.

Once you get your tree home, there's just no comparison to having a fresh cut tree. The pine scent fills the house, and the tree stays fresh for a very long time. Just remember to give it plenty of water those first few days.

If you are looking for a tree farm near Brevard, North Carolina, where you can choose and cut your own Christmas tree, here are the farms we recommend.
