When was the last time you really just kicked back and let the world pass you by? It's hard to do these days with all the rushing around we do, cramming as much as possible into a 24 hour time frame. Maybe what you need is a river to swim in, a mountain get away with a laid back attitude, and some tranquil views thrown in for good measure.
What would it take to get you to slow down a little? Would it be the feel of smooth rocks under your feet and cool mountain river water on a hot summer day? Maybe a peaceful view of the meadow and the mountains on the horizon would do it. Either way, spend some time at this cabin near Brevard, North Carolina and you just can't help but feel good about where you are. It’s as comfortable as your favorite pair of old jeans and a perfect place to create memories with your friends and family.
This slice of mountain paradise is located on the North Fork French Broad River in Pisgah National Forest in western North Carolina. It sits on 1.5 acres with over 120 feet of wide river frontage and it doesn’t take any imagination at all to visualize spending lots of time here. Bring the whole gang when you come because there is plenty of room. In addition to the master bedroom and bath on the main floor, the upstairs has an full bath and 19′x15′ bedroom that comfortably fits two queen size beds with room to spare. A second space upstairs has bunk beds for an additional sleeping area. Outside you’ll find plenty of room to stretch out and relax, plant a garden in the sunny front yard, sit a while on the wide front porch, or take a swim in the river. For even more fun on the river, you’re less than 15 minutes from one of the area’s best kayak and canoe rental businesses. Adventure out on your own, or ask them about their guided river tours.
This idyllic mountain cabin could be just the place for you to catch up with the rest of your life, a place where you can breathe deep and appreciate the beautiful surroundings.
Mary Chapin Carpenter is one of my favorite singer-songwriters and one of my favorite songs that she wrote is called "Late for Your Life". A portion of the first verse goes like this:
You've been saying for the longest time that the time has come
You've been talking like you're of a mind to get some changing done
Maybe move out of the city, find some quiet little town
Where you can sit out on your back porch step
And watch the sun go down....
A change of scene would sure be great
The thought is nice to contemplate
But the question begs why would you wait
And be late for your life.
