Dear Mr. President,
Congratulations on being the first sitting President to appear on the Tonight Show. You must be very proud of yet another first. With everything else that is going on in our country right now, I'm delighted that you could find the time to chill with Jay. Between that big mess with AIG, the war, Gitmo, the recession, a housing industry that is in a great big funk, families who are losing their homes to foreclosure, a mismanaged bailout, an equally mismanaged spendulous stimulus plan, a floundering economy, and a dysfunctional and divided Congress who can't out of their own way to make sound decisions, it's good that you can put all that aside for a tax-payer funded junket to the west coast.
I got a chuckle out of your comment about bowling when you're back home at the White House. But don't let people pick on your bowling score. Just like your current approval rating, with a little work, I'm sure you'll be able to get those numbers up. Unfortunately, for many Americans, the only score they are worried about right now is their credit score. Good thing bowling isn't like the credit card industry where they get to make up the rules and then change them whenever they want, huh!
And way to go on those NCAA picks! Just like your administration, you're sure to annoy more than one person with your choices, but what the heck. If it all works out, maybe you can apply those same skills to picking your Cabinet.
Finally, Mr. President, on behalf of all us out here struggling in our day to to day lives to stay afloat and ahead of the bill collectors, I want to thank you for bringing a whole new meaning to March Madness.
Sincerely,
Carol and Robert Clay, Patriots

It seems like you forget that Real Estate Agents caused the housing bubble to inflate and pushed unwitting buyers to spend more and more of their money on these homes knowing that they couldn't afford them in the long run. If you really cared about people you would have informed them of the danger of ARMs. You forget that just 15 years ago a normal person could afford a house in Transylvania County, but you probably weren't here then anyway. You came here with the rest of the greedy agents to make a quick buck and drove the housing prices to astronomical levels. The Republicans lost, get over it and lets try to get out of this mess that your "profession" surely helped us get in.
I always find it interesting when I'm attacked by people who know nothing about me...and even less about the transaction process when buying or selling a home. Contrary to what you may think, Realtors, especially this Realtor, do not force people into loans. Personally we work with our clients to make sure they are getting the best rate and the best loan for them. At the end of the day, though, we have no control over what kind of loan a person chooses. If you want to vent, you might want to direct your anger at the banks and mortgage brokers who wrote those loans. Or perhaps people like Barney Frank and others who directed the banks and mortgage companies to write the subprime loans so more people could be homeowners - even if they couldn't afford it. Sorry...it was a bad idea and Realtors don't write loans.
As for the Transylvania market, you're right. We do need more affordable housing. No doubt about it. But.... We did not "come here with the rest of the greedy agents to make a quick buck and drove the housing prices to astronomical levels." If anything, we are working with our clients to get them to lower their prices so they are more in line.
Lastly...this isn't a Democrat or Republican thing. This is an American thing and I stand by my belief that the decisions that Washington is making are not good for this country.
I realize that nothing I can say will ever change your mind...and clearly you have nothing good to say about Realtors. So be it.
